The National Capital Region’s fast-developing township of Noida is getting a face lift – the country’s model road, developed in line with the boulevards in global megacities, will soon be a part of the teeming cityscape. The 4km long road will stretch between Captain Shashi Chowk and the intersection between Sector 51 and 71. The road, which is expected to be a reality in the next two years, will be pedestrian friendly and will encourage residents and visitors to take a refreshing stroll. The road will also promote fitness in people by developing cycle tracks.
The project is expected to cost 12 crore rupees and will cater to the requirements of everyone, including differently-abled citizens, children, and senior citizens. The road will feature a camera cover, efficient surveillance and illuminated crossings to support pedestrians. The detailed project report and design will be completed by Orion Architects and will be on the lines of urban landscaping and road design seen in major cities like London, Singapore, Dubai and Stockholm. With walkways, service lanes, medians, land setback and green belts, the total width of the road will be about 60 meters.
Adorned with trees, plants and seating areas with benches and sculptures, the road will also offer internet connectivity to the patrons.
